IF Bane and The Joker are planning a night out in Bradford soon, they might want to think again.
In scenes reminiscent of The Dark Knight Rises - or perhaps an episode of Only Fools and Horses - the British city of Bradford appears to have its own Caped Crusader protecting the streets.
West Yorkshire Police have released CCTV pictures showing 'Batman' delivering a man suspected of handling stolen goods to a police station in the early hours of Monday, February 25.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "The person who brought the wanted man into the station was dressed in a full Batman outfit. His identity, however, remains unknown."
Handing over the alleged miscreant, he said: "I've caught this one for you."
He then, say police, "promptly vanished into the night to fight crime and the fear of crime in Bradford".
His captive was charged with handling stolen goods and fraud offences, and will appear at Bradford magistrates on Friday, police said.
George Galloway, MP for Bradford West, tweeted: "Contrary to rumours sweeping gotham (sic), I am not the Bradford Batman, However I take my hat off to him and wish him luck in the future."
