Henriques leads way as Blues pile on the runs

A TON to New South Wales all-rounder Moises Henriques put his top-placed team in control on day one of the Sheffield Shield clash against South Australia at the SCG yesterday.

The Blues were 373 all out at stumps, with Henriques (pictured) posting 127. No.4 Ben Rohrer was also impressive, smashing 97 from 106 deliveries, including 19 fours.

Rohrer was called into the Blues team at the start of the Ashes series, with five batsmen promoted to the Australian team.

And he has scoring 179 from five innings.

And with such a high strike rate in the longer form of the game, Rohrer is set to star once again for the Melbourne Renegades in the upcoming Big Bash League.

Joe Mennie was the best of the Redbacks bowlers, taking 4-60, while Nic Maddinson (39) would have rued another start in what has been a solid season, but with no hundreds.
