Help Pelican Man's legacy live on

Two years after the death of The Pelican Man, Lance Ferris, Australian Seabird Rescue is ready to celebrate Lance’s life and launch the next phase of the organisation – and there couldn’t be a more fitting date than Lance’s birthday.

On December 12 ASR will host the inaugural Lance Ferris Memorial Dinner at the Ballina RSL Club to celebrate his life’s work and enduring legacy as well as launch the Lance Ferris Memorial Fund.

Every cent raised for the fund will help feed and house seabirds and turtles and hopefully help provide a few small scholarships for students doing research into marine wildlife and its conservation.

ASR is now hunting and gathering for auction items for the evening and is looking for sponsors to cover some of its volunteers or for individuals to book a table and enjoy the fabulous food and live entertainment from the Big Bandidos.

Tickets are $75 per head or $700 for a table of 10 and include a three-course meal and entertainment. To book, phone the Ballina RSL Club on 6686 2544. To donate auction items or sponsor volunteers, phone ASR on 6686 2852.
