Hasler has say on Bulldogs board talk

RUGBY LEAGUE: Under-pressure Bulldogs coach Des Hasler has denied his coaching tenure was even discussed at a club board meeting on Tuesday night.

Speculation has surfaced about Hasler's tenure at the club after a string of poor performances which has left the Bulldogs sitting in 13th on the NRL ladder and unlikely to make the top eight.

But speaking at a Canterbury press conference on Wednesday, Hasler said his role at the club was not touched on at the meeting.

"It hasn't been raised. It's probably not worth going down that track or commenting on,” he said.

"It was just a board meeting.”

Hasler denied he was an easy target for criticism.

"It goes with the territory, that's the way it is,” he said.

"It was a run-of-the-mill board meeting. Discussing budgets, boring things like that.

"At the same time, you always reflect. The group here is very united. We know it's been an up-and-down year.

"The players want to work really hard, particularly for the fans, who it's been pretty tough for.

"We want to finish strong. We're just thinking about winning the next game. We're certainly not giving up.”
