HART Services celebrate 30 years of Community Service
HART Services Celebrate 30 years of Community Service during Volunteers' Week.
Volunteers and Staff from Home Assistance and Regional Transport Inc. (HART Services) gathered at
'Down Converys Lane' on the 10th May to celebrate 30 years of community service.
As part of the day over 37 staff and volunteers were given awards recognising 10 years and above of service. The day commenced with a cavalcade of HART vehicles to the event, followed by a Welcome to Country & Smoking Ceremony conducted by Uncle Gilbert Laurie.
One volunteer, Stan Goulding has been with the service from near the beginning and has seen the organisation grow from a couple of drivers providing transport in their own cars to HART Services now boasting a fleet of 30 vehicles and offering a wide range of programs.
HART have over 100 volunteers who collectively dedicate 500 hours each week to helping people stay healthy, independent and connected to their Community.
HART provide services across Lismore, Kyogle and Richmond Valley lga's. In 2016 HART delivered 75,000 transports and 13,000 hours of Social Support to over 3,000 clients.
HART Services facilitate independence, health, wellbeing and social participation with a focus on elderly, people with disabilities, youth and special needs groups. HART is inclusive of all cultures. www.hartservices.org.au

Group outings: shopping buses, social and cultural events.
Able Gardens: creating low-maintenance, accessible gardens and surrounds
Personalised care-planning for persons with complex needs.
Driving instruction and support.
YOWI: Transport for groups of young people.
