Grass fire burning out of control in Victoria

AN EMERGENCY warning was in place last night for the country Victorian town of Shepparton where a grass fire was burning out of control.

The Country Fire Authority warned lives and homes were at risk as the 20ha blaze moved closer to residential areas.

The fire was expected to reach the outskirts of Shepparton, Grahamvale and Orrvale by 6pm.
