Grandcarers meet

The Rainbow Region Grandcarers support group for grandparents who are raising their grandchildren in the Northern Rivers region meets on the first Friday of the month during school terms. Meetings take place at the Family Relationship Centre (upstairs) at 5 Market Street, Lismore, from 10.30am-12pm. Kinship carers are also welcome to come along to the next meeting on August 3, have morning tea, make new friends, have a laugh and enjoy the company of other carers. Everyone connected

One hundred $10,000 grants are available to non-profit community organisations to support local activities that help enhance digital inclusion by connecting disadvantaged children and young people to the internet, build their online skills or promote cyber safety. The Everyone Connected Grants program from the Telstra Foundation is designed to assist disadvantaged Australians enjoy the benefits of modern communication technology. Non-profit community organisations can directly apply for a grant by visiting the Telstra Foundation website at Applications close on Monday, July 30.

Youth survey

If you are 15-19 years old, get involved in the national Mission Australia Youth Survey. This annual survey is an important tool asks young Australians what they and value, where they turn for advice and support, what issues concern them, how they are involved with their community and their feelings about their future. The survey can be completed online at until Friday, August 17. The results of the survey will help to develop youth advocacy strategies that are shaped by the voices of young people themselves and assist with the development of programs and services that meet young people's needs, as well as being a key resource for policy makers.
