Goodes back and looks set for big Cats encounter

SYDNEY Swans star Adam Goodes will return to training today and barring injury will be named in the team to take on the Cats in Geelong on Saturday.

Coach John Longmire said Goodes (pictured) had rung him to say he was ready to get back into the action after taking time away from the game last week following persistent booing from opposition supporters this season.

Longmire also said he had no doubts the support from the AFL community would translate into a positive experience at Geelong.

"What we are confident about is the Geelong Football Club and what they're about and what they stand for," the coach said.

"We have a lot of respect for that football club, for their CEO, for their chairman, for their captain, their playing group and their supporters.

"They're a quality organization and we look forward to going down the highway and having a really good, strong, competitive game."
