Giving skaters a fair go

Ballina's annual Fair Go Skateboarding Festival is on again on Saturday, October 17, at the Missingham Skatepark . It is celebrating its 10th birthday this year. The competition started in the Ballina Fair carpark and has grown to attract sponsored skaters as well as the best local amateurs.

This year competitors will be competing for a $2000 first prize with another $1000 up for grabs in the 'cash for tricks' event.

There are men's, women's, 16 and under and 13 and under divisions with a prize pool from some of skateboarding's top brands.

Entry forms for the competition are available at Truck Stop SK8 and other local surf and skate shops, or you can download it at www.fairgoskate.com.au.

If you're on Facebook, you can search “Fairgo” and write something on the wall, look at photos and videos from previous years and see who else is attending the event.

Organisers are also looking for some volunteers to fill a few roles on the day, so if this sounds like you, phone Paul at Truck Stop SK8 on 6686 6720.
