Give a gift worth giving

Why not do something altruistic that will make a real difference to someone’s life this Christmas and donate to the Cancer Council through their Do Your Christmas Thing program.

The Do Your Thing gifts program encourages individuals to forgo a traditional gift in lieu of making a donation to help Cancer Council fund cancer research, prevention, information and support services like the Cancer Council Helpline (131 120).

All supporters who donate through Do Your Thing will receive a special certificate to download and give as a keepsake of their contribution.

For those looking for practical gift ideas or ‘stocking fillers’, the online Cancer Council Shop (shop.cancercouncil.com.au) sells a range of sun smart products including fashionable sunglasses, swimwear, hats and a range of SPF protected cosmetics – lip glosses, lipsticks, foundation, moisturisers and body lotions.

“It can be tough to buy a gift for the person who has everything,” Patty Delaney from the Cancer Council said. “Making a donation in their honour, or purchasing a gift from the Cancer Council shop is a great way to give a gift to your loved one and help support local cancer patients at the same time.”

To donate through Do Your Thing, visit www.cancercouncil.com.au/christmas or phone 1300 656 585.
