Sarah McGregor and her new band are set to Shine at The Rails on Sunday night.

Getting ready to shine

Local songstress Sarah McGregor has got a new trio together, going by the name of Shine.

Sarah has released two albums of her own and has songs featured in several films and TV programs.

Rolling Stone describes her as having a “silky smooth voice that comes on like a lover’s whisper and wordplay sharp enough to slice through steel”.

In Shine she has joined up with a couple of hot local players in guitarist Sam Shine (who has worked with the late, great Jackie Orszaczky, amongst others) and drummer Stu Black.

Together they promise to serve up a smooth and soulful brew of jazz standards, funk, blues with a sprinkling of originals.

Catch them at The Rails in Byron on Sunday, May 30, from 6pm.
