Gaynor to run for Senate, says climate change is 'crap'

KATTER'S Australian Party national general secretary Bernard Gaynor has resigned from the position after announcing he will run for the Senate as a candidate for the party at this year's federal election.

The Iraq War veteran said he made his decision after receiving widespread support from KAP members.

"I thank all those members who helped me to reach this decision and who have given great personal support over the last three years while we worked tirelessly to establish a new political force," Mr Gaynor said.

Mr Gaynor said he was motivated by a desire to stop the "politically-correct policies" of the current Federal Government and will focus on three issues during his campaign - border protection, the carbon tax and foreign ownership.

He said the carbon tax needed to be scrapped, describing climate change as "crap".

"The politically-correct, open-door immigration policy that resulted in the recent Sydney riots and numerous terrorist threats must be scrapped," he said.

"Australians remain sceptical about Greens-driven climate policies that do not reduce temperatures but raise the budgetary heat for families. Climate change is crap and the carbon tax must go."
