Gallipoli Art Prize open

The Gallipoli Memorial Club is calling on Australian, New Zealand and Turkish artists to submit paintings to the $20,000 Gallipoli Art Prize.

Gaining recognition as one of Australia's major art prizes and now in its eighth year, the prize continues to attract a broad range of entries. Last year it was awarded to Sydney artist Geoff Harvey for his mixed media work Trench Interment depicting the relics of war. Previous entrants include acclaimed artists Garry Shead, Raymond Arnold (winner 2010), Euan Macleod (winner 2009), Leo Robba, Peter Smeeth and Robert Hannaford.

Entries for this year's prize close on Tuesday 19 March 2013, with the winner announced on Tuesday 23 April 2013 at The Gallipoli Memorial Club in Sydney.
