A GALA dinner dance will be held at the Lismore Workers Club tomorrow night to raise money to buy two important pieces of cancer-fighting equipment for Lismore Base Hospital.
The Crackin' Cancer group will launch its campaign to buy a transperineal probe and upmarket CAD-MRI system for the North Coast Cancer Unit.
A transperineal probe is beneficial to prostate cancer sufferers who are going to have radiation treatment.
The CAD-MRI is useful for people suffering breast, liver and prostate cancer, and medical researchers are also working at developing other "add ons".
The gala dinner dance fundraiser will include a three-course meal and entertainment from Rhythm Shift and The Pepper Boys.
Tickets are available at Lismore Workers Club.
Local surgeon Dr Sue Velovski has donated 10 tickets and they are on sale for $30, which is half price.
Phone Crackin' Cancer's secretary Bev Stanton on 6662 5902 or 0433 960 332 to secure one of the tickets.
