Former ADF driver arrested for brutal attack two decades ago

A FORMER Australian Defence Force driver and kickboxer has confessed to raping a teenager more than 20 years ago in a sickening attack so brutal it left her with brain damage and only able to eat through a syringe.

The cold case breakthrough came after police linked John Clayton Sims to the vicious assault through just a few drops of blood found on a twig and leaf at the scene, the Daily Telegraph reports.

Sims has now admitted to bashing and raping the 19-year-old woman outside of a Parramatta nightclub on March 3, 1996.

Court documents reveal the 45-year-old told detectives: "I just lost it. I don't know what happened. I just … turned into a devil or something."
