Footy fans wanted for TV show

THE producers of the local drama The Gods of Wheat Street are looking for extras to appear at a football match that is being shot next Wednesday, October 10.

The six-part series will be shown on the ABC next year and was created by Casino-based writer Jon Bell.

"One of our fictional characters is a would-be football star and we want to film football scenes with great atmosphere... so we are looking for lots of people to come and make up a big crowd of spectators," he said.

"We are staging a game between Casino All Blacks and Tabulam Turtle Divers so we need people to turn up as fans in their team colours - red and white for Casino, and orange and black for Tabulam."

Filming will take place at Queen Elizabeth II Park in Casino from 7.30am. The producers would like people to stay all day and will put on a free barbecue.

If you would like to attend, phone 6621 9194.
