Food wanted for farmers

The Food for Farmers Appeal has announced drop-off points where people can leave non-perishable food items. These goods are packed into hampers and distributed at Christmas to farmers who are struggling in the worst-affected drought areas of the state.

Following is a list of drop-off points:

Lismore: Woolies at the Square, Jontom Car Sales in Dawson St and Pirlos Tyres in Union St.

Ballina: NRMA office, Newcastle Permanent Building Society and Wallace’s.

Alstonville: The Uniting Church Op Shop and Century 21 Real Estate.

Casino: Eric Box Mitsubishi and George & Furhman Real Estate.

Bangalow: George & Furhman Real Estate.

Kyogle: Norco.

Evans Head: Bowling Club.

Lennox Head: Bare Feet Shoe Shop and Lennox Hire and Garden Supplies.
