Fire destroys Channon house

A house on Wallace Rd at The Channon was completely destroyed by fire on Tuesday night.

Community safety officer for the Rural Fire Service Boyd Townsend said they received a call at about 8.20pm and brigades from The Channon and Dunoon were called to respond. But by the time they got there the house had already been destroyed.

“The brigade extinguished the remaining fire and prevented it from jumping to the adjoining bushland,” Superintendent Townsend said.

Police and forensic experts are looking into the cause of the fire, which was unknown on Wednesday afternoon.

No one was injured in the blaze.
