THE knives and claws are out in the new season of My Kitchen Rules.
And Minyama siblings Elle, 22 and Jake, 20, Harrison are in the thick of it.
But celebrity chefs Manu Feildel and Pete Evans say it is just part of the competitive nature of this sort of show.
"(Jake is) outspoken, but he is very nice, young and full of beans and he wants to win," Manu said.
"He is a brilliant cook and it is great to have someone like Jake on the show and other people like it - he's outspoken," Pete added.
This season is set to be the most cut-throat in the show's history and the contestants definitely felt the heat.
Jake said cooking on the show was "80 million times more stressful" than he imagined it would be.
Elle concurred by saying the time constraints pushed relationships to the brink and she was thankful she had entered with her brother.
The pair said they occasionally got hot-headed in the kitchen, but dealt with it as they always had.
"We say what we need to say and two to five minutes later, we're all happy," Jake said.
"We never hold a grudge," Elle added.
Jake said everyone got along quite well, considering the circumstances.
"We had no real fights; we played the backseat," he said.
Elle said she was surprised Team Tassie had lashed out at them on national TV.
"We never said anything bad behind their backs," she said.
My Kitchen Rules starts tonight at 7.30pm on Seven.
