Friends and family mourn loss of Jayden Mitchell
FAMILY and friends of Emu Park teenager Jayden Mitchell are mourning the tragic loss of the 17-year-old after he was killed in a car crash on Saturday morning.
Around 1.30am Jayden and a 16-year-old passenger were driving a stolen car through Bolsover St at high speeds and crashed into a concrete pillar of a building.
According to police, Jayden failed to negotiate a roundabout.
It is believed he then crashed into a curb before mounting the footpath and crashing.
Police have confirmed the vehicle involved in the crash was stolen earlier in the evening from a Depot Hill address.
The 16-year-old male passenger, believed to be a Berserker resident, was taken to Rockhampton Hospital with serious injuries and was in a stable condition yesterday.
