FAMILY trio Uncle Jed has been crowned the 2013 Australia's Got Talent winner.
The musical act was the favourite to win the competition in its first year on Channel 9 ever since their memorable rendition of Matt Corby's Brother, which made judge Kyle Sandilands tear up, for their audition.
The trio performed the song again tonight, reminding the judges and viewers why they have the potential to be successful recording artists.
Brothers Danny and Shannon Stitt, originally from Coffs Harbour, and their cousin Laura Stitt formed the group in 2005 and released a self-titled debut album in 2010.
But their $250,000 grand prize is sure to help the trio release more original music.
"I just want to thank every single person who gave us very bit of support along the journey," Laura said.
The singers beat out 11 other finalists including Queensland's Dean Brady, Academy of Brothers and Swagamama.
Laura has worked as a back-up singer for Jessica Mauboy, but it looks like all three members of Uncle Jed will be quitting their day jobs to focus on the band.
The grand final decider was a "battle of the bands", coming down to Uncle Jed and runners up Greg Gould & The Chase.
