THE WINNER of the inaugural Wilson Visual Art Award, on exhibition at Trinity Catholic College from today (Thursday August 24) till Saturday August 26, from 10am to 6pm, will be announced on Friday night. The $10,000 prize will be awarded by exhibition judge, Brisbane's GoMA curator Peter McKay. Of the 342 entries, mostly drawings and paintings, 85 finalists have been chosen. The $1500 People's Choice award will be announced on Saturday at 3pm by Lismore artist Katka Adams.

Artist Rosanna Pimm uses 3500 porcelain tampons to created her large scale performance installation  Riots of Passage in The Quad  as part of The Lismore Women's Festival on International Women's Day. Laying down and de-constructing the mandala structure symbolises the impermanence of the menstrual cycle and an end to female inequality in the world.
