POLICE can not understand why a seemingly innocent family man was killed in an execution-style shooting during his morning run this week.
On Tuesday, the body of 46-year-old Momtaz "Mizzo" Kabbout was found in bushland in Sydney's west.
The father of three reportedly had been shot several times.
On Thursday afternoon police were still at a loss as to why Mr Kabbout was targeted.
Detective Superintendent Willing said Mr Kabbout was not known to police and there was no evidence to support rumours he may have been the victim of a gay hate crime.
He said Mr Kabbout was married and had a successful driving instruction business but it was clear someone wanted him dead.
Mr Kabbout was of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, about 166cm tall with a slim build and greying hair.
He was wearing dark coloured track pants and a dark-coloured shirt and jacket when he died.
Anyone with information can phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
