Entry for Coffs Harbour Regatta extended another week

ENTRY date for the 33rd Club Marine Pittwater and Coffs Harbour Regatta has been extended another week.

Royal Prince Alfred and Coffs Harbour Yacht Clubs will allow competitors to participate without incurring a late fee.

With 39 boats entered at 5pm Friday, a competitive fleet of 33 monohulls and six multihulls has assembled for the tactical race north, representing 12 different yacht clubs on the eastern seaboard.

There are no fewer than 15 boats doing the regatta for the first time.

The five race series kicks off with the Pittwater to Coffs Harbour Race from Thursday, January 2 at 1pm, followed by two sprint and two 20nm offshore races in Coffs Harbour on January 5-6.

Chair of the Coffs Organising Committee, Richard Hudson, said another week of entries could bring some surprise latecomers.

"We have again attracted another very competitive fleet particularly in the 40 to 50 footers and want to leave the door open to invite others contemplating entering the opportunity to do so," he said.

"Great social activities are planned in Coffs for crews to enjoy themselves so we welcome anyone considering the regatta to get their entry and paperwork in as soon as possible."

Final close of entries is now Friday, December 13, at 1700hrs (5pm) with the deadline for documentation the following Monday at the same time.
