Girl, 5, critically injured in Corindi home incident

A GIRL remains in a critical condition after she was injured at her Corindi Beach home, police have confirmed.

Emergency services were called to Casson Close just before 4:45pm yesterday in relation to injuries sustained by the five-year-old girl.

Coffs Harbour Police said the focus of investigations at this stage are around accidental self-strangulation.

Paramedics responded to the scene and the girl was transported to Coffs Harbour Hospital.

She was later flown to Sydney's Westmead Hospital where she remains in a critical condition.

 

SUNDAY 5:30PM: A MAJOR incident is developing on the Coffs Coast involving a young child.

It is believed the child was discovered late on Sunday afternoon on a rural property at Corindi with unspecified injuries.

Paramedics and police attended the scene and the child is being transported to Coffs Harbour Hospital in an unknown condition.

No further details are being released at this time.
