Elliot demands Nats candidate speak up on CSG
PAGE Nationals candidate Kevin Hogan has stated his opposition to coal seam gas, now the pressure is on for his Richmond counterpart to do the same.
Richmond MP Justine Elliot has today called out Richmond Nationals candidate Matthew Fraser, demanding he state his position on coal seam gas drilling.
Ms Elliot has publicly stated her opposition to coal seam gas drilling, resigning from her position as a parliamentary secretary so she could speak openly on the subject and joining with Page MP Janelle Saffin to launch a petition aimed at forcing the NSW Parliament to debate the issue.
"He needs to come clean and tell locals what he thinks; not what National Party Headquarters in Sydney tells him to say," Ms Elliot said in a short statement..
"To date Matthew Fraser has been hiding behind weasel words rather than actually giving an honest answer to the question - Does he support CSG Mining on the North Coast?"
