Eight comics walk into a bar...

Comedian Russell Brand has about 20 minutes of new material he wants to try out while he’s on holidays just outside Mullumbimby. Russell and his lady love are holidaying in Main Arm. This gives young Russ the perfect opportunity to pop into The Courthouse Open Mic gig for an informal appearance next Thursday, April 1, from 8pm.

The Courthouse Open Mic is an opportunity for eight aspiring comics to have a go at this most deadly of performing arts and strut their five minutes worth.

MC for the evening is emerging star comedian Chris Hague (pictured). He is quirky, charming and can smell colours.

Courthouse Open Mic is one of Mandy Nolan’s comedy initiatives to get budding comics stage time, thereby growing baby comics into giant ones. If they don’t die in the meantime. The night is always packed with surprises.
