Eddy leans on Ballina for laughs

Steady Eddy continues a long run of laughs at the Ballina RSL.
Steady Eddy continues a long run of laughs at the Ballina RSL.

Renowned as the original 'bent man' of comedy, Steady Eddy continues to confound the critics who tried to put him in a sheltered workshop as a kid, with a never-ending tour.

Ably assisted by MC Mandy Nolan and Ocean Shores own Jewish-born neurotic, Robert Grayson, Steady briefly touches down at the Ballina RSL tonight (Thursday, 26 July).

A veteran of international stand-up, he's played the Montreal and Austrian Comedy Festivals, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the LA Comedy Store, as well as being a regular on Australian festivals and TV.

He's won the prestigious Mo Awards for New Wave Comedy Performer of the Year (twice) and his comedy album Ready Steady Go!! picked up the 1994 Aria Award for 'Best Comedy Album'.

That's a whole lotta laughs. The show is free and kicks off at 8pm.

Rosanna has designs on female taboo

Artist Rosanna Pimm uses 3500 porcelain tampons to created her large scale performance installation Riots of Passage in The Quad as part of The Lismore Women's Festival on International Women's Day. Laying down and de-constructing the mandala structure symbolises the impermanence of the menstrual cycle and an end to female inequality in the world.
