BEAU Ryan can lay claim to what most people can't. The former NRL star has somehow managed to start up his very own bromance with Hollywood superstar Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

Former Tigers and Cronulla winger Ryan's popularity skyrocketed when he scored a gig on the Channel Nine Footy Show hosting a segment called "Beau Knows". Even in retirement he's remained one of rugby league's favourite characters.

In his role with the Logie award-winning program, Ryan has interviewed some big names outside the sporting world. One of those is Johnson, and the pair immediately clicked.

Ryan was in the US earlier this month for the premiere of Johnson's new movie Baywatch, and according to a video posted on his Facebook page, Johnson was letting Ryan stay in his Miami condo while on assignment.

But nothing in this world comes free, as Ryan found out in a segment that went to air on The Footy Show on Thursday night.

After asking how to score a spot on Baywatch, Johnson told Ryan step one was to "shave that s*** off your head", referring to Ryan's dyed blonde hair.

"I know Justin Bieber told you to keep the tips, don't do that," Johnson said.

So out came the clippers and Johnson went to town. He started by shaving an acceptable amount off, but then changed his equipment without Ryan noticing to ensure his scalp became more obvious than ever.

"It's still on number two," Johnson lied.

Ryan told Johnson he's expecting a baby, his wife due to give birth in 10 weeks and the two were planning to take "baby bump" photos next week.

"She said cut it but not too short," Ryan said.

But as any WWE fan will know, when it comes to The Rock, it doesn't matter that Ryan and his wife had plans.

After Johnson finished butchering Ryan's locks, he showed him the finished product.

Ryan: Are you serious? I've got baby photos next week.

Johnson: Yep, and you're going to look really f***ed up doing those baby photos.

Ryan: What's this? It looks like (The A-Team character) Mr T but white and not as muscly. F***
