POLICE were forced to use a rare Signal One call for help after a man was overly aggressive when being pulled over this morning.

Just before 7am plain clothed police spotted a man driving erratically on the Pacific Hwy just south of Chinderah.

"He was driving erratically and at a high speed," Tweed-Byron crime manager Acting Inspector Saul Wiseman said.

"He was pulled over and became aggressive."

Acting Insp Wiseman said extra cars and police were called to the scene to render assistance and to arrest the 28-year-old Queensland man.

"He was transported to Tweed Heads police station," he said.

"He was intoxicated and violent."

The man is expected to be charged with middle range PCA and two charges of resisting arrest.

Rosanna has designs on female taboo

Artist Rosanna Pimm uses 3500 porcelain tampons to created her large scale performance installation Riots of Passage in The Quad as part of The Lismore Women's Festival on International Women's Day. Laying down and de-constructing the mandala structure symbolises the impermanence of the menstrual cycle and an end to female inequality in the world.
