A TROUBLED Hervey Bay mother who was caught drink driving three times in one week has been fined more than $3000 and stripped of her licence for at least four years.

The Hervey Bay Magistrates Court heard Amy Ross, 39, returned a reading of 0.098 when she was pulled over for a random breath test on January 5.

Just two days later, police were called to a party at Pialba where they stopped Ross driving with her young daughter in the passenger seat.

She was taken to the station where she blew 0.129 and had her licence suspended.

But Ms Ross's problems didn't end there.

Police Prosecutor Sergeant Jeanette Grigoris said that when Ross left the station she went and found her car and drove away with her daughter.

She was pulled over again and returned a reading of 0.088.

Defence lawyer Allan Mallard said Ross was "very short on support systems" having been raised by a heroin addict father, suffering through domestic violence in a series of relationships and losing her former partner Steve Maher - one of two Hervey Bay concreters killed in a crash near Childers last year.

Describing Ross's actions as "inexcusable" Hervey Bay magistrate Graeme Tatnell said the "worst part" was that she had her child with her.

He said Ross had clearly lived a "hugely difficult life" but warned she was only making things more difficult and warned she risked jail if she drove disqualified.
