Dreaming of a boogie Xmas...

Carrying on in the traditions of 1920s boogie piano players, Jan Preston (pictured) is drinking heavily – no, that’s wrong – she’s doing her Christmas Tour along the east coast of this wide, jingle-belled land during the merry month of December.

Not only a gutsy singer and feisty piano player, she is also a composer for films and television in Australia and overseas. (The ABC TV’s Australian Story theme music is one of Jan’s compositions.)

Breathing new life into old songs, Jan Preston will be including boogie piano versions of Christmas tunes (such as Jingle Bells and White Christmas) in her show when she plays the Lismore Workers Club on Friday, December 11.

The boogie starts at 1pm. Entry is $5.
