Djan Djan at Mullum Fest

Mamadou Diabate from Mali who plays kora, Bobby Singh from India who plays tabla and Jeff Lang from this wide, burning land who plays guitar (like ringin’ a bell), make up a most virtuosic three-piece – Djan Djan.

This is a fairly new collaboration which sees these musicians stretching their imagination and skills into areas of new musicality. Although the players pay their respects to their cultural backgrounds of Africa, India and Australia, the music of Djan Djan is a distinctive new sound – steeped in tradition, yet brimming with innovation.

Djan Djan is performing at the Mullum Music fest this Sunday, November 29.

It’ll be one of the many hot gigs in Mullum this weekend.

The Mullum Music Festival runs from tonight (Thursday, November 26) to Sunday November 29.
