Deb and Rick's rollercoaster night on My Kitchen Rules

THERE were plenty of dramas for South Australia's Deb and Rick on My Kitchen Rules tonight.

"Naughty Nana" struck early, greeting judges Pete Evans and Manu Feildel at the front door with a naked painting that was apparently of her.

Deb and Rick's instant restaurant featured an ocean theme, reflecting the locally sourced seafood in two of their courses.

Their entrée was a mediocre start, with the judges praising the flavours but critiquing the presentation and amount of mustard sauce.

"The prawns were cooked beautifully; juicy, sweet, it was great," Feildel said.

"The mustard dressing is gorgeous, to die for, but far too much."

After a less than stellar start to their three-course meal they were second guessing themselves on the serving size of their ocean trout.

And a visit in the kitchen from Feildel only increased the pressure.

After insisting to wear the pants, Deb yielded to Rick's judgment.

"I think you got too scared with the critiques I gave you in the kitchen," he said.

"There wasn't enough; that pesto was to die for."

Deb and Rick were buoyed by the positive feedback from their main course, but after their first cake didn't cook properly their guests ended up waiting three hours for dessert.

Some nearly resorted to eating the decorations in Deb's "sweets corner".

"I can't say I'm a huge fan of trifles… but it's the best dish you cooked tonight," Evans said.

"It had a lightness to it."

While the judges praised Deb's trifle, some of the guests didn't find it very memorable.

Tomorrow night's episode sees Perth mates Kelly and Chloe finally show off their much talked about food knowledge.

Will the girls present a sophisticated dining experience or eat their words?
