Dear Dad, memories of you

Local artist Tiffany Sassafrass currently has installations in the Lismore window art spaces – Norco Artspace (at the Norco factory in South Lismore), and at LRG 24:7 (front of Lismore Regional Gallery).

These poignant installations are comprised of items given to Sassafrass by her father shortly before his death.

“Before my dad died last October, he asked me to make an artwork using his belongings,” Tiffany said. “This process is a healing journey for me and is unlocking memories from my childhood.”

There’s an installation of paperwork sewn together in 24:7. It includes a large letter which Sassafrass has written to her father. The evolving artwork displayed at Norco Artspace (pictured) is made up of magazines, old beer cans, videos and numerous other items from her dad. The work conjures up the character of an eccentric man and avid collector. The installations are on display until April 18.
