David Koch says Seven shouldn't pay Schapelle Corby

OUTSPOKEN Sunrise presenter David Koch has criticised his own television network for paying convicted drug smuggler Schapelle Corby $2 million for a TV interview.

"I reckon we should have nothing to do with her as a network," he said this morning on television.

Koch said he and his wife Libby had a big argument about giving money to the former Gold Coast beautician for the interview.

"I totally disagree with paying a convicted drug smuggler $2 million. I know Indonesia is corrupt and all that sort of stuff, but she is convicted."

"(Libby) thinks she's innocent (Corby) and she deserves the money.''

Koch's co-host said she would want to see the interview.

Seven has already had bad history with the Corby family, being forced to pay out a huge settlement for defamation after action by Mercedes Corby over a Today Tonight story.

The Sunrise presenter later even linked the payment to a call-out to viewers to enter the show's cash giveaway competition.

"How would you like to win some Mega Cool cash without spending time in an overseas jail?," he said.

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

SHOULD CORBY OR HER FAMILY BE PAID FOR AN INTERVIEW?

WILL YOU WATCH IT OR DO YOU THINK THE MEDIA HAS GONE OVERBOARD WITH THIS STORY?
