FROM audition listings and choreographer directories to dance tutorials, health information, and upcoming shows. Now everything a dancer needs to know is now right at their fingertips.
Looking to make its debut on Apple Newsstand next month, the Buderim-based Dancehub Magazine is in the middle of preparing its first magazine application for the iPad.
Dancehub director Phillip Reece said the online publication would be the first of its kind to be made available on iTunes.
"Nobody in the dance industry had taken that step in recognising the efficiency of an app, and that the dance community is smart in using this technology," he said.
"Technically speaking, there are a lot of dance people using websites and social media like Facebook and Twitter to communicate locally and internationally.
"But what we're doing here is bringing it all together, and allowing for them to go to the one location for all the current information dance students and teachers need to know at the drop of a hat."
Mr Reece said the innovation was "born out of frustration" when he saw the need for a better online information source for aspiring dancers like his daughter, looking to audition for shows or dance schools.
"It was all really confusing. We got frustrated by the whole process," he said. "It could have been a lot faster and we would have been better prepared."
While the ability to connect local and international dancers, choreographers and talent scouts was an exhilarating prospect, Mr Reece said he looked forward to continuing to help bring the dance community together.
