Dance chance with Norpa

So, you think you can dance…

Well, Norpa has received funding from The Regional Arts Fund to host an opportunity for three professional dancers in the Northern Rivers Region.

Through Generator (Norpa’s creative development program), Choreographer Brian Lucas will hold two full-time residencies (paid), each for two weeks, from July 19 and November 15. Brian Lucas is a Brisbane-based freelance director, choreographer, writer and performer. Trained in both acting and dance, he’s worked with many of Australia’s most well-known companies, including Chunky Move, KAGE Theatre, Queensland Theatre Company, La Boite Theatre and Dance North.

Through the two residencies Brian will work with the three dancers to begin developing a full-length professional work to be staged next year. Brian Lucas and Norpa artistic director Julian Louis will hold a group workshop audition at Lismore City Hall Dance Studio on Tuesday, April 6, from 4.30-6.30pm. The auditions are open to dancers from all disciplines though they’re primarily interested in professional dancers who are 30 years plus.

So, if you think this is for you, email Marisa Snow: producer@norpa.org.au.
