AUTHORITIES say Severe Tropical Cyclone Narelle is showing signs of weakening and is becoming increasingly unlikely communities along Western Australia's West Pilbara coast will be impacted by dangerous weather.
Narelle intensified overnight and was upgraded to a category five tropical cyclone early this morning.
However, it has since been downgraded back to a category four system and is expected to weaken to a category three on Monday.
The Bureau of Meteorology says it does not expect any storm surges, severe wind or severe rain to today impact the most vulnerable town, Exmouth.
The Bureau estimates Narelle is more than 500 kilometres wide, but estimates it would not come within 375 kilometres of the coast.
