HIT Lismore band Grinspoon have announced they will be taking an "indefinite break" from the band life to pursue individual projects.
The band announced their hiatus in a statement earlier today.
Grinspoon's members hail from the Lismore district and the band is a former winner of the North Coast music scene's Dolphin Awards.
The band members said they were "excited to see what the future holds".
"Thanks to all our families, friends, and especially our fans for the support over the last 18 years - it's been a wild ride to say the least," the band said in a statement.
"We are still a band of brothers but it's time for us to take a break and recharge the batteries."
Grinspoon have recorded seven studio albums, received 13 ARIA nominations and sold over half a million records.
Their final show will be in Brisbane on Friday December 20 at Eaton Hills Hotel.
