Cup runneth over with metaphors

THE MYSTERY of the Geraldine Cup will be solved. The winner of the 20th annual Lismore Poetry Cup will be decided.

Yes, poetry lovers, it all happens at the Tatts Hotel in Lismore next Wednesday, October 10, from 8pm.

The Poetry Cup has been won by a bevy of wonderful local and visiting poets over the years including Christine Strelan, Catherine Stewart, Laurie Axtens, Robin 'Archie' Archbold, Jane Treasure and Daniel Pearson.

The prizes include $100 cash from the Live Poets, plus $100 voucher from Noah's Arc Books, and $100 Peoples Choice prize from Inner Sanctum.

And then there's the mysterious Geraldine Cup and cash prize in memory of Lismore's wonderful artist/poet Geraldine Bigelow.

The grand slam is for an original two-minute poem. For more info phone the boss poet David on 0487 384 993.

Entry is $7/$5.
