Cuban permaculturist at Djanbung Gardens dinner

Environmental educator and permaculturalist Roberto Perez, of the Cuban Foundation for Nature and Humanity, will be joining the Sustainable Aid Course being held at Djanbung Gardens, Nimbin and giving a special evening presentation on Wednesday night, October 17.

In 2008, during a Cuban-Australian Permaculture Exchange, Roberto toured Australia talking to thousands of permaculturalists. "He opened our eyes to what can happen in a country as a result of losing those life support systems that we take for granted and imagine that we can't live without," said Djanbung's Janelle Schafer.

Djanbung founder Robyn Francis visited Cuba in return, touring ecological sites and food gardens which provide the food for the (US-blockaded) island country.

Roberto's visit will be marked by a fundraising Latino dinner at 6pm, followed by his presentation. Cost is $20/$25, fundraising for Permaculture in Cuba. Bookings essential, Phone 6689 1755 or email admin@permaculture.com.au
