Crankin' it up for the youf

Crankfest Xtreme will hit the ramps and the airwaves once again this Saturday, April 24.

The Evans Head River Reserve and Evans Head Skate Park are the venues for this regional youth event with three stages and eight performance/workshop areas. Visitors can enjoy young bands, hip hop performers and electronic music.

Local acts featuring during the day are Alice Blu (pictured), Automatic Androids (who recently won the Ballina Battle of the Bands), DJ Leumas, G-Funk Jatz and the CPC Crew.

Art and performance workshops are free to participate in.

Meanwhile there’ll be plenty of hot action at the skate park with both skate and BMX competitions. Primary school age kids will be able to enjoy free face-painting, pony rides and jumping castles. And of course, markets and food stalls will feed the appetites.

It all starts around 10am. Buses will run from Bonalbo, Tabulam, Casino, Lismore, Nimbin, Ballina, Mullumbimby, Ocean Shores and Lennox Head. For more info on the bus timetable phone 6662 3566.
