From Africa to Longman: Wyatt Roy makes list with Malala

WYATT Roy's reputation has spread far and wide.

The 23-year-old Federal Member for Longman (pictured) was on the go-to list for African high school student John Mosothoane's "journalistic mission to interview 14 of the world's most interesting and inspiring politicians".

Former South African president FW de Klerk; Sweden's youngest MP Anton Abele; Uganda's youngest MP, Proscovia Oromait; and teenage Pakistani activist Malala Yousufzai also made the cut.

Is Wyatt Roy one of the most interesting and inspiring politicians in the world?

This poll ended on 02 February 2015.

Current Results

Yes, and it's good to see his achievements recognised

19%

Yes, but perhaps not quite on the level of Malala Yousafzai

9%

No, but he's a great representative for Longman

20%

No, I don't even rate him as a decent representative for Longman

51%

This is not a scientific poll. The results reflect only the opinions of those who chose to participate.

Mr Roy completed his 30-minute interview via Google Hangout last week, advising Mr Mosothoane, an aspiring politician from the Kingdom of Lesotho, to "go for it".

"The easiest thing to do in life is to sit on the sidelines and complain," Mr Roy said.

"To step into the breach and to try and achieve something takes some significant courage.

"Get out there and don't be afraid of making mistakes.

"Use them as an opportunity to grow as an individual and better yourself."
