Coach upset at presents handed out to Spurs

SOUTHAMPTON manager Mauricio Pochettino said his players resembled Santa more than Saints in the 3-2 home loss against Tottenham.

Emmanuel Adebayor scored twice to help managerless Tottenham come from behind to win away from home for the third consecutive game.

The win moves Spurs above defending champion Manchester United into seventh spot, while Southampton is now ninth having failed to win in six games, its equal worst run since Pochettino became manager in January. There was no Christmas cheer from Pochettino after the game.

"In the second half, we dressed up as Santa Claus and gave them many presents. We made many mistakes and when you make these mistakes, you are punished. We are obviously very angry," he said.

Elsewhere, Everton extended its unbeaten run to 10 games after winning 2-1 at Swansea.
