Second term as deputy mayor

THE NEW deputy mayor of Lismore is Simon Clough. He will hold the position for 12 months.

Cr Clough was elected at the new council's first extraordinary meeting on Tuesday night with six votes, ahead of Cr Neil Marks with three votes and Cr Gianpiero Battista with two votes.

The meeting also appointed Cr Clough and Cr Vanessa Ekins to the board of Rous Water; Cr Neil Marks and Graham Meineke to the Richmond River County Council and Cr Ray Houston to far North Coast Weeds.

The first ordinary meeting for the new council will be held next Tuesday, October 9. The agenda can be found at www.lismore.nsw.gov.au under Business Papers.
