Ms Gibson said the nomination for the AusMumpreneur Awards was a "great encouragement" to those balancing motherhood and business.

"It's recognition of the after hours I put into the business and also some of the sacrifices I've had to make," she said.

The St George Banking Group AusMumpreneur Awards recognise Aussie mums achieving outstanding success in business.

Ms Gibson was herself raised in a baby hammock and she heard about their success soothing babies.

Four years ago she endeavoured to find one for sale to use for her fussy newborn, and that's when she had the idea to start her baby hammock business.

"I love that I can fulfil both my desires to be a mum and also a successful working individual," she said.

"I have learnt to forge ahead by making my goals actionable and visible."

Some of the areas recipients are recognised for include business excellence, product development, customer service and digital innovation.

Winners of the awards will be announced in Melbourne on September 5.
