Classical orchestra from Cologne

The motto for the Chamber Philharmonia Cologne (pictured) is "classical music the world over".

This chamber ensemble from Cologne in Germany has been travelling the world since they were founded in Cologne in 2009. They want as many people as possible, across all generations, to enjoy classical music.

Their repertoire includes favourites as well as the exotic and not so well known.

The ensemble will perform at St Andrew's Anglican Church in Lismore next Monday, February 13, at 8pm. You'll hear Vivaldi's Four Seasons, Bach's Concerto in D Minor, Tchaikovsky's Elegie, and Mozart's Divertimento in D Major.

Tickets for this fabulous classical event are $31/21 (children free) and available from Planet Music in Lismore (6621 7784) and at the church from 7pm. The music starts at 8pm.

Rosanna has designs on female taboo

Artist Rosanna Pimm uses 3500 porcelain tampons to created her large scale performance installation Riots of Passage in The Quad as part of The Lismore Women's Festival on International Women's Day. Laying down and de-constructing the mandala structure symbolises the impermanence of the menstrual cycle and an end to female inequality in the world.
