Choirs singing up a storm

The Winsome Hotel will reverberate to the sound of musicians singing once again with a fundraising concert being held there on Sunday, October 31. Since the Lismore Soup Kitchen took over the grand old pub more than a year ago, the place has become home to both the Street Choir and the Gospel Choir and is regularly full of people sitting around playing music.

“The concert on Sunday will feature some of the soup kitchen regulars getting up to do what they do,” organiser Steve Jackson said.

The line-up will start with the two choirs plus the Hope Trolley Band and then will be followed by singer/songwriters including John Gift, Robin Banks, Keith Whale, Matt Shrek and more. Then Luke Vassella and John Gift will do a set as a duo and there will also be a set from the Unity Jazz band. Things get underway from midday and entry is $5. A $2 sausage sizzle will be available from 5pm.
