Children 'design' Gold Coast hospital

WE'VE all heard of child prodigies, but could an 11-year-old girland an eight-year-old boy really have been up to the task of designingthe Gold Coast's newest hospital?

Apparently, yes.

Atleast, that's the impression one might get from a cursory glance atQueensland Health's latest press release on the $1.76 billion GoldCoast University Hospital project.

"Children design hospital of the future," the headline screamed.

Itwent on to declare that the two talented youngsters would have their"winning hospital designs" showcased at a community open day near theSouthport construction site tomorrow.

Locals have been invited to check out plans drafted by the "budding health professionals".
